About Me

Hello,

I am Estelle Pedersen, founder of Studio Pastelle.

My journey as a graphic designer and illustrator has allowed me to develop a unique style, enriched by my explorations across different continents.

Passionate about ornithology, I capture the beauty of birds and nature in my artwork. My creative adventure is shaped by my travels, which enrich my artistic vision and professional practice.

Why "Studio Pastelle"?

A studio is a space where a discipline develops, and in my case, my creativity. It is a place where one can grow and experiment. In short, a space where you feel free to express yourself and refine your craft.

"Pastelle" refers to my preferred techniques, which remain traditional. It also refers to pastel colors, which I particularly love and are always present in my creations. Finally, "Pastelle" ends in "elle" because my style is feminine, but also as a reference to my name, Estelle.

The star in my logo echoes my name, Estelle, which means "star".

My Journey

In 2023, I obtained my Bachelor's degree in graphic design from ESMA in Montpellier. This training allowed me to acquire solid skills and develop my creative sensitivity. After receiving my degree, I felt the need to open myself to new perspectives and have enriching experiences.

That’s when I decided to go to New Zealand, a country whose wild nature and unique fauna had always fascinated me. While working and traveling through this beautiful land, I discovered a new vision of life and art. This adventure truly broadened my horizons and inspired me beyond what I had imagined.

These moments of discovery and reflection led me to realize that it was time for me to start freelancing. I understood that this was the perfect time to turn my passion into a full-fledged career, offering my services as a graphic designer and illustrator to those who share the desire to follow their dreams.

Today, I am ready to accompany and inspire those who, like me, aspire to bring their projects to life and give shape to their visions. Together, we can create works that reflect your ambitions and tell your story with sensitivity and creativity.

My travels

At the crossroads of cultures and felines of Taiwan

My stay in Taiwan offered me a new creative dimension, a vibrant mix of cultures and discoveries. In Keelung, the city inspired me through its lively alleys and its four-legged inhabitants.

Thus was born my series of illustrations "A Cat in Keelung", an exploration of the felines that roam these streets, symbols of a city full of life.

As part of this trip, I also had the opportunity to collaborate on a project to promote the Japanese district of Keelung. I created a retro map highlighting the historical sites of this area, a nod to its unique heritage.

Taiwan has allowed me to rediscover the art of storytelling, combining beauty, culture, and nature.

Japan, the source of my artistic spring

Travelling to Japan is to dive into a world where every detail, every season, is imbued with meaning.

The cherry blossoms, although I have not yet seen them in full bloom, remain a source of inspiration through their symbolism and grace. They embody the spirit of mono no aware (物の哀れ), this Japanese sensitivity to the ephemeral beauty of life and nature.

"Mono no Aware", the name of this collection of illustrations, is a tribute to the poetry and harmony of this fascinating culture. Each creation reflects the delicacy and depth of a way of life where beauty is found in the present moment.

The Secret Songs of New Zealand

My travels are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for my creations.

My time in New Zealand profoundly enriched my artistic journey and brought to life my poster collection titled "Bird Collection," celebrating the richness and diversity of New Zealand's birds. This country is home to a unique wildlife found nowhere else in the world, with many endemic species that cannot be found anywhere else.

From the Kea to the Tui, these birds embody the uniqueness and natural splendour of New Zealand. Through each illustration, I have sought to capture the essence of these extraordinary creatures. This collection is a tribute to their beauty, diversity, and rarity.
